Your legacy membership has been part of visitMyHarbour for a long time, and we want you to feel fully at home as the service continues to evolve.

A word of thanks

If you’re reading this as a legacy member, you’ve been with visitMyHarbour for many years. Your early support helped shape the platform into the trusted resource it is today, and we genuinely appreciate the role you’ve played in that journey.

What your original membership included

Many of you joined under our original one-off membership offer:

  • A single payment of £25
  • Long-term access to the VMH members’ area
  • Access to key features including:
  • Hundreds of high-resolution “paper” charts
  • Online tide tables covering 400+ locations
  • Tidal stream atlases
  • Downloadable harbour pilotage PDFs for offline use
  • Google Earth VisiCharts overlays
  • Member discounts on “For Nav” chart products

At the time, this was designed to provide exceptional long-term value, with access lasting at least five years while the site continued in its original form.

What has changed

visitMyHarbour has now entered a new phase of development, with a modernised platform built to support future growth and ongoing improvements.

Recent developments include:

  • Improved access across desktop and mobile devices
  • Enhanced chart delivery and performance
  • Ongoing data updates and platform improvements
  • A new membership structure to support continued investment

Is my legacy membership still valid?

Yes! Your legacy membership remains valid and will be honoured

  • Your access continues for at least five years from your original join date
  • For most members, this means access through to around June  2031
  • You will continue to receive the core services included in your original membership

This reflects both the original intention of the membership and our commitment to treating all members fairly.

What’s different in the new memberships?

Our newer membership tiers, including First Mate and Skipper, include additional capabilities that were not part of the original legacy offer.

These may include:

  • Enhanced online chart access across devices
  • Improved mobile usability
  • Expanded features and ongoing updates
  • Future platform developments

Your legacy membership continues to provide excellent value, but it does not automatically include these newer enhancements.

Your options

You don’t need to do anything. Your current access will continue as normal until June 2031. If you would like access to mobile charts, you can upgrade your membership by clicking the 'Join' button on this page.

If you’d like access to the latest features and improvements, you can upgrade at any time.

What happens at the end of the legacy period?

When the original legacy access period comes to an end, members will be invited to transition to the new membership model to continue accessing the platform.

We’ll provide clear guidance and plenty of notice well in advance.
